2006

Shafee Abrahams
School: Livingstone High School
Grade:12

This has been a really long, hard term for me. I didn’t anticipate that my final year of High School would be this hard and strenuous. Schoolwork, homework, squash. This is basically my week. Go to school, do my work, come home, do more work and on selected days get to take my anger out on a wall. For this reason this vacation is going to be really fun for me. Just being able to sleep a little later is going to be enjoyable even though I do have a lot of projects and assignments.

This terms tests really showed me that my Matric year is not going to be a joke, I really never expected it to be this tough, but through perseverance and diligence I’m hoping to make my way through the year with good results.

The highlights of the term, would include our inter-house sports day, where I participated in some of the fun events. The market day was also fun.

I think I have really matured during this first term. I have noticed that we are the seniors at school and I have actually begun acting like a senior. Being a prefect also came with a sense of responsibility which has really contributed to my growth and development.

My results were not of the best, but I am contented with my performance as I have worked really hard. I scored an A symbol for Biology, two Bs for Mathematics and Accounting and 3 Cs for English, Afrikaans and Physical Science.

My goals for the next term are not defined as yet, I am just hoping for good results after my June examination.

This scholarship is really important to me. It teaches me to appreciate the essence of education and I would like to thank the Kay Mason Foundation for that.
