WHO I AM:
My name is KAYLIN LEWIN. I live in the suburb of Retreat, located in Cape Town, South Africa. I am 15 years old and celebrate my birthday on July 22. I am the only child of my wonderful mother. We have quite a close family bond.
I attend South Peninsula High School where I am in grade 10. I have been on the school’s merit list for all my 9 consecutive terms at the school. I do not participate in any sport codes, but I am an active member of a variety of societies. Some include the Debating Club, the Beading Society as well as the Drama Club to name a few.
I have 4 close friends and we have lots of fun together. My hobbies include going to the beach, baking cakes and cookies when I get the chance, and also reading. I love watching rugby and was over the moon when my team, the Springboks, won the world cup. Bryan Habana is my all-time favorite player.
I usually pass time doing beading or with friends like any other teenager. I love day-dreaming. I make no secret of my plans for my future. I have set goals for myself. I really want to become an attorney. I plan on working extra hard to secure a place at the University of Cape Town to graduate with LLB degree.
I want to be a millionaire by my 35th birthday. I also want to get married, with the whole fairytale scenario, and have a big family. But my main goal is to live a life of purpose and to help others.
LATEST NEWS:
I have had quite an eventful quarter this term. At my school, the first quarter is mainly dedicated to sports- inter-house competition and the inter-house events. I belong to the Mimosa house. My school came third in the whole event.
My school also had its first Valentine’s Day Ball. My friends and I attended alone; we had great fun though.
Then we had the surf-walk which we have every year. Before you can go to the surf-walk you have to ask for donations to finance the trip. On the day of the surf-walk the weather was very good; the five kilometer walk was not so great though.
On my last report I mentioned the Cape Argus Quiz which I took part in. I am again planning to take part this year with the hope that this year I will make it further than the semi-finals. I will have to manage my time because there is too much work in Grade 11. I have just found out that I am number two in the merit list, which means that I am right at the top of the academic list.
As I am writing this report, I am getting ready for the RYLA camp- Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. I am a member of the interact club and we do charity work.
Thank you once again.
