End 2011 Report:
These last two terms have been exhausting. I have done many, many projects and I can say that I am nothing but proud of my accomplishments.
I am definitely starting to see what I, Cassidy Nicholson am capable of and believe me when I say by the time I am in the real world I will have many more accomplishments and achievements that I am going to be proud of.
Academics
At the moment my life is jam packed with projects, tests, exams and lots more. I would like to say that I am number one in my grade unfortunately that is not the case and yet I am still working my butt off and improving step by step, believe me when I say that nothing is going unnoticed at the moment with my academics as the teachers say I am doing very well and as well I have been told by my teachers and peers that I am very bright and will achieve nothing less than extraordinary. Richard even said to me quite long ago that I need to keep a space for him in my Limo one day. Ha-ha.
My favourite subjects at the moment are…
· Mathematics (80%)
· Dramatic Arts (85%)
· Economics & Management Sciences (90%)
The subjects I have chosen next year are…
· Mathematics (Pure)
· Economics
· Business
· Dramatic Arts
What I want to be when I am older
· Lawyer (crime)
· Actress
Culture
I am busy with many things in culture. Things like plays, practicals, eisteddfods and many more which I will be mentioning.
These past two terms I have completed and choreographed a dramatic arts practical (96%). Taken part in an eisteddfod which I was recommended for. I got Honours and two certificates in assembly for it and as well a badge for my blazer which says, “Eisteddfod winner.” Also at that very eisteddfod I got noticed by a very big company run by my now divine extra drama teacher Della Schneider, we do things such as dance, physical theatre, dramatic arts, workshops and many more.
At the beginning of next year I will be in a rerun of Midsummer Night’s Dream a play by the amazing William Shakespeare.
As for debating. It could not have gone any better than I could have hoped. I came 11 in the Western Cape and almost got into the national team, unfortunately they could only chose ten learners lucky for me a friend of mine had gotten on the team and kept me updated. I was notified by my debating coaches that I will be receiving not one but TWO scrolls next year, one for debating and the other Pro Labere which means very good.
Next year I am hoping to join many more clubs at my school, such as…
· Interact (helps the needy children)
· ACTA (helps astray animals)
· Debating
Lastly something bonus I thought I could add. I was suggested and asked if next year I could take part in a Lawyer course. This event might sound small but it is in fact the exact opposite as we speak in front of real judges and actually fight cases that could help our society.
Sports
As this donor report is for third and fourth term there is a mix of seasons here. Summer and winter.
In summer I take part in tennis and waterpolo as for winter I do hockey and the occasional soccer.
These two past terms have been on the down low regarding sport as our school is trying to raise funds for…
· New tennis nets
· Electronic score boards
And that is all I know of.
Next year I will be taking part in the hockey tour in Stellenbosch; we will be doing an umpire exam and training with the Marty girls (professional hockey players)
Friends
I have never written about my friends before so here we go…
My friends and I are actually very easy going all we do is watch movies and go beaching and tanning and let’s not forget about those girls nights out (by that I mean sleepovers)
Recently a lot of my friends have gotten into photography and even won awards at our school for it. It is amazing what these people that I am friends with are capable of; two of them in fact get paid for their pictures. I hopefully would like to get into it too one day.
Family
My family is as close as they could ever be. My cousin whom is a beautician recently came back from her job in Dubai and now works here again. YAY! She now has an awesome job where all the celebrities stay. Maybe I should sneak in and get a little job hunting done with them you know in the acting business.
My dad’s side of the family from Amsterdam will most likely come and visit next year and I am very excited.
Something exciting!
Recently I have started writing a book that I hope will get noticed soon. It is called “For the love of Murder.” It is a book about a woman by the name of Sarah Lee who falls in love with the man that tries to kill her. I am a sucker for romance. I later plan to write a short series of books called, “The series of the unknown.” Those books all have a major twist in them and are inspired by my friends not saying the twists in the books are theirs but the main characters have similar personalities and looks. Hope that makes sense.
About Me…
At the moment I am very driven to achieve like never before. I personally would like to start saving up to go and make a name for myself in the big world everyone talks about. I have many things that I enjoy and would like to pursue but as I have been told by my mom that life is short so make the most of it and live everyday like it is your last.
At the Moment I am 15 and going on 16 on the 4th of June 2012.
I enjoy playing around and just having a good laugh, I love putting a smile on people’s faces and just would like to eventually out of all my acts please everyone.
Yours Sincerely Cassidy Jade Nicholson.
Mid- 2011 Report:
These last two terms have been nothing but hard work. When I left grade eight I didn’t know what I was in for because all my older friends told me how much harder it was than grade eight.
I have been trying to teach myself time management and usually when people hear that they think friends and work, no… it’s been all projects, work and exams, no time for fun and friends believe it or not. I am still trying to get the hang of time management but in the words of the teachers, “Cassidy has worked very hard, keep up the hard work and focus because you need to be rewarded” so I guess you could say I am slowly getting there.
These last two terms there have been a lot of events at my school, things to do with sports and culture. I have been trying to get involved in as much as possible, things like the inter-house plays, sports day, gala, summer sports and camps.
I came into grade nine with a high head and a great attitude and what I can say is that it is getting me very far so far.
The camps I have gone on this term have been… swimming witch I highly enjoyed (I got initiated which was hilarious). I also went on hockey camp which was so much fun I can never thank my coach enough for the experience she gave by taking my team and I to Potchefstroom, where we also met the national hockey players of South Africa, my team was oh so lucky to be coached by Jody Killasy. I had the time of my life there, and what also made the hockey tour exceptionally fun was the fact that the last day we spent in Johannesburg (I have never been there before) which made the tour all the more exciting.
There will also be a grade nine camp in the third term which I am really excited for.
The sports I have taken part in these past two terms have been…
- swimming
- water polo
- hockey
And in the last term I am thinking of taking tennis
This year I have decided to dive face first into debating, and what I can say on that is that, I never knew I could have so much fun arguing with people.
Our team has been unbeaten so far and now on the 20th of July we will be going to the quarter finals.
When I came to grade nine I was very proud of myself because I had got into the top math set and got the top teachers for my actual set, a nice pat on the back is needed. For those things I really need to thank the Saturdays I did every weekend two years ago.
My favourite subjects at the moment are…
- mathematics
- drama
- economics and management sciences
I have accomplished many things the past terms some of which including a running award, being asked to run against the top schools, getting on the debating team, hockey A team and so on.
That has been my grade nine year so far, all I can hope for is that my year just gets better.
WHO I AM:
My name is Cassidy Jade Nicholson. I am a twelve year old girl with brown hair and eyes, I have a small body, and I’m funny and a bit silly when I need to be. I am quite popular with people because I love socializing, laughing and I am an outgoing person. I am very adventurous by nature.
I am a product of a mixed marriage, my mother being white and father being ‘coloured’, the other half of my family from my mother’s side lives in the Netherlands and the other half lives in Cape Town. I have a one year old sister and a dog whose name is Jack.
We live in a house that we rent. I now have my own bedroom which is lovely because in the last house we had I did not have my own room; I had to sleep on the floor in the lounge.
I am a determined person, and I try hard. I try to contribute helpfully in class. I am enthusiastic and dedicated.
