I’d like firstly to thank you for sponsoring me through my school career.
This year in particular was very hectic. The workload became really heavy. My first term went well, but it was the mid-year exam that got to me. It went well, but could have been better.
The syllabus has been quite interesting, especially Biology. I am looking forward to going to university next year. I’m still sending in applications and wanting to get in for B.Sc in conservation ecology or even biodiversity. I really love nature and science. I might not be scoring in the 80% - 90% range, but I love Science a lot.
My home life has been hectic. We have been having hard times, even just to make sure that we have what we need. It has been tough, but we’re getting through this. I’ve seen many and still do see them going through the same thing, but if they had the opportunities afforded to me, they too will be better off. And for that I am thankful to you and to God.
I am not an average person. I believe that I will really show my true capabilities during my tertiary years – where I’ll be doing what interests me. To you at the KMF, another thank you. Keep up the good work!!!

This past term I have had too many distractions and made my focus shift around rather violently, other than that it’s been a good start to the year
At the beginning of the term I began playing keyboards for the youth band, entered some BMX competitions and went out a lot. My life is still the same except for the slight changes. I have also tried to make it, but worse things happened, I got sick, I was robbed and missed out on a lot of work because of being sick.
The challenges I faced were mainly to do with concentration. I find if very had to concentrate in class, because I am just out of control in the sense that I cannot focus.
During this term I believe I became much more wise because now I know how your lifestyle can affect every aspect of your life.
I figured out a lot this term especially from my results, which were not what I wanted, but it also puts pressure on me to do better. My results were especially bad, because I was unable to write some of the papers.
At the moment I can only celebrate one thing which is coming 4th in the BMX competition. For the new term I want to clear my mind of all distractions and really focus on my work.
During the Easter holidays I am planning to have as much fun as possible with my bike before I begin hitting the books.
To me the scholarship is very important, because it relieves pressure off my mother, and makes me aim higher with no more draw backs.
