AL-KARIM RAMJI KMF Treasurer Al-Karim Ramji has worked in the investment industry for over twenty years and during that time he has lived in Tokyo, Toronto, New York and London, where he is currently a director with RBC Capital Markets. Born in Tanzania, he received his primary education in the UK, and earned his joint B.A. in Economics and Business Adminstration from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. He now resides in London and visits South Africa several times a year.
Mr. Ramji is a long-time supporter of many charitable organizations, including those in the developing world, particularly those in the areas of education and health care. He has been a Trustee of the Kay Mason Foundation since 2007.
CHRIS CHIVERS (Minor Canon and Precentor, Westminster Abbey) Born and educated in Bristol - where he was a cathedral chorister - he is a graduate in Music from Magdalen College, Oxford and in Theology from Selwyn College, Cambridge. Before ordination training at Westcott House, he spent five years at King's College School, Cambridge as Lay Chaplain, and Tutor to the Choristers of its world famous choir.
Canon Chivers served a curacy in the Parish of Friern Barnet, London and was named one of the UK's top ten preachers in the Times Preacher of the Year 1998 competition. From 1999-2001 he was Canon Precentor, St George's Cathedral, Cape Town, where he also worked as a freelance journalist and chaired the inter-faith board of the Cape Town Holocaust Centre.
The author of two books based on his experiences in South Africa - Echoes of a Rainbow Song (1996) and The Hard Road to Glory (2001) - he is a published composer, married with three young sons.
CHRISTOPHER FREMANTLE Christopher is a graduate of Oxford University and currently works as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley. For the first decade of the KMF's existence he was the charity's Treasurer and was instrumental in setting up its administration and financial procedures.
